Initial Assessment

What is an initial assessment?

Firstly, we will obtain some of your personal details, contact information and previous medical history.

We will then ask questions surrounding the nature and history of your current injury. Subsequently, we will perform a number of physical tests in order to come to an accurate diagnosis for your injury. These tests are designed to provoke the injury so some discomfort should be expected. This will then enable us to construct a tailored plan in order to treat and rehabilitate your injury effectively.

The appointment will also include treatment.

How to prepare for an initial assessment

For injury assessment and treatment purposes, you may be asked to remove certain items of clothing to gain access to the area of injury.

In order to prepare for this, you should try to wear accessible clothing. For example, if we are examining a knee injury, shorts would be an ideal choice of clothing.
